Avoid listening to bad stories. Have your pity party and move on.
For a few days during each chemo cycle, you are very tired with fatigue deep in your bones, and might feel queasy and lethargic. Rest a lot. Being worn out and chemotherapy don’t mix. This is the time to pamper yourself. Outside of those few bad days each cycle you might feel great and run, play tennis, work, live, dance. Some work through chemo and find it helps to distract them.
Comfortable button-up PJs to wear after surgery when everything else would hurt. A warm fleece blanket to crawl under. Large exquisite scarves. An extravagant hat or a goofy baseball cap for bald days. Soft cotton nighties (buttons on front or ties over shoulder when you can’t lift your arms overhead, sleeveless for hot flash relief). Lovely loungewear for lazy days.
